Christmas Tree

We bought a tree and got it up. Dallin was so excited to decorate it. He even insisted on colored lights. Can you tell what part of the tree he decorated? The years of forgoing Christmas decorations is now over. He's been asking for a hat since they have had them out (so like September?) and so when he saw it at Hobby Lobby we said OK. $3 can buy a lot of happiness.

Thanksgiving pictures will be coming. I downloaded the ones I have and I still have some to get from Aly. She's got the ones from the best outing we had.

Little Learners: Dinomite

So I mentioned that I signed Dallin up for classes at the local chidrens museum. This was the 5 week series about dinosaurs. Here are a few of the pictures. It's great because the museum provides a digita camera to borrow every time you go and after the series is over they give you a disc with all the pictures. Genius! This is only a few pictures. I took about 40 of them.
Playing in the tar pit. Kind of like that gak stuff. By the way, I didn't go in and fix the red eye in any of the pictures.

Dinosaur sock puppet.

Making a stegosaurus hand print.

More dinosaur art.

Digging for dinosaurs like an archeologist.

Painting dinosaur feet. We later cut these out and taped them to the top of our shoes and pretended to stomp like a dinosaur.

Play dough time.

Dad came to class with us one time.
Painting dinosaur eggs. We learned that dinosaur eggs were more round than oval.

Playing in the moon sand.

Making sun catchers shaped like a dinosaur.

Late Birthday Gift

I have been signing Dallin up for classes at the local chidrens museum. (I'll post some pictures from the dinosaur series soon) After class he always wants to walk through the store. I never let him buy anything, but his Great Grandma Braegger sent him a little birthday money so this time I let him pick out one thing. Dallin loves stuffed animals, so it was no surprise he picked out this large stuffed snake. Aren't the two of them cute?

Scripture Study

Dallin has fallen asleep during scripture study the last couple of nights. Last night, he fell asleep while he was "reading". It's not a great video, and Russ did an awful job by getting me in the video. (I know, I look bad. Please over look that. I was not happy about it. I almost didn't post it.) But it's pretty funny. Way more funny when it actually happened.

Three Year Checkup

This is how you will find him most of the time at home, and he would be this way in public too if I let him.
Dallin had his three year checkup today. Nothing too bad. He is in the 50% of height and weight. That is the first time since birth. He's finally growing. Earlier this week I thought he might be getting  pink eye, but he never rubbed at it and there was no drainage. Turns out he had allergies. He never had them in Utah, but here in Michigan his eye get all red and watery and his nose gets stuffy and runny. She wants him on an allergy medicine. He got his flu "shot", or rather the nasal mist. He wasn't too happy. We go back to see her (his doctor) in a month.

Third Birthday

Dallin had a fun filled third birthday. We opened up gifts as soon as he woke up. He played with them all morning long (and they are still in my front room)
Opening Thomas the Train train tracks. He loves it.

I'm not quite sure where my parents for this, but they fly Southwest almost weekly. He thinks it's pretty funny.

I got apple cider and doughnut from Quality Dairy. They have the best apple cider.

Dallin got a bunch of costume from my mom and dad. He has been putting them on and off for the last two days. Today I even let him wear his Superman costume to the park after he begged me. Everyone thinks it's fun to talk to Superman. I've never had so many people at the park say Hi.

And the cake. I wish I did it a bit different, but it turned out OK. Especially since at 11:30 the night before I ruined the cake and had to get up at 6:00 and run to Quality Dairy by our house to pick one up (hence the cider and doughnuts) and paid $3 for a cake mix. It almost killed me. First time trying to make marshmallow fondant too. turned out pretty good, but I think I learned a bit and it should go more smoothly next time.

No pictures, but Dallin and I went to the Zoo with some friends. It's free from Nov till the end of March. It was fun. Then it was off to Chuck E Cheese. Dallin loved it. We had a coupon, so for $20 we got a large pizza, drinks, and 50 tokens. The pizza was OK, but Dallin was in heaven playing every game he wanted too.

Happy about his cake. I guess it was a success.

Tasted pretty good. The marshmallow fondant is way better than the store bought stuff. We still peeled most of it off because it was a a lot of sugar.

He got some money from my Grandma Jenkins. He found this Mario doll he wanted. He was so excited to get to spend his birthday money.

OK, so I know that was a bit broken up, but you get the idea. If I talked about every gift he got it would be a long post. He was spoiled by family for sure. It was such a busy day that Dallin and I mostly stayed home today. I don't think either of us wanted to go anywhere.

He's sure a cute kid. Russ and I are pretty lucky.

Halloween and Dollar Store Fun

We had a Trunk or Treat with our ward for Halloween. Dallin loved it once he figured out how it worked. It was a pretty cold night, but we survived it.  Dallin made a haul (well, at least compared to the last couple of years. He gets the concept this year.)

Most kids walked around the parking lot near the cars. Not Super Why. He loved to run through the middle.
After he went around once, he decided he was ready to go home. We bundled him up, opened some candy for him, and let him sit in the front seat of the car while we finished passing out candy. The problem was that for some reason he got it into his head that he would get to sit in the front when we drove home. He wasn't happy when he had to get into his car seat. Luckily it didn't last long.
That is because two minutes into the drive He was out cold. So Russ and I went to the drive through at Taco Bell and Twisters (ice cream). :)
Unrelated, but here is my $2 apron I made Dallin. I bought a tea towel and some ribbon from the dollar store. And with my mad sewing skills, I cut the towel to size, hemmed it up, added pockets, sewed a casing for the ribbon, and I was done. It's not that great considering I kind of making it up as I went (I had two different ideas from online and I kind of combined them), but Dallin likes it. He's been wanting one
Birthday pictures will come shortly. I'm actually post this while Russ and I wait for Dallin to wake up. I guess in the Richins' home they always opened presents first thing in the morning, so Russ wants to do the same thing with Dallin. Fine with me. He can watch Toy Story 3 while I finish his cake. ...Oh I think I can hear him. Bye bye!
