One Proud Mama

So the photo has nothing to do with my post other than it is of my sweet little guy.  I had one of those proud moments (rather two days) with Dallin this week. As a lot of you know, Russ is in China for a week. Before I realized which week Russ would be gone I had volunteered to help with a wedding and with a move. I wasn't quite sure what to do, but in the end I decided just to take Dallin with me. I was nervous because Dallin (like all 3 year olds) don't always listen and can act totally crazy and wild when he is excited. He was wonderful! We talked about what was expected and he remember what he needed to do. We were at the church for about 5 hours and didn't cause any problems. I helped in the kitchen a lot, so he had to eat dinner alone with the other wedding goers and he did great. Then today he did well to stay out of the grownups way when they were moving and even helped clean the apartment after everything was moved out. On both days I had to get after him a few times, but not for anything big (mostly safety things). I was afraid he would act up because he wasn't getting much attention, but not the case. I didn't know my little guy could be such a good kid. I told him how grateful I was that he chooses the right and uses good judgement. I think he knows how important it was to me because he was just beaming when I thanked him. Now I am off to snuggle and cuddle and play with my guy. Time for some good one on one time. Sorry if this came off brag-ish (not a word, right?) but I was so floored that I had to share (Russ isn't here to talk to). Thanks for humoring me.

Quick Recap (Bit Long)

So it has been a long time since I have posted. A lot of that had to do with the fact that Dallin and I were in Utah for three week. I didn't really take many pictures while in Utah, but here are a few.
Dallin and Sky, best buddies.
Feeding Grandpa's chicken
Dallin and Ty got Strep. Adventure to the Dr with Ty.
Fun at the Treehouse Museum
It was nice to finally get home to my own house and bed after three weeks. I just wish home was in Utah. We had a good time hanging out with family and seeing old friends.

Since coming home, Dallin and I have had a little bit of a hard time getting back onto a schedule. I have started making  time to do one craft/activity with Dallin everyday. Here are some pictures of our favorites.

Dallin also started soccer for the summer. Last week was our first week. Here was Dallin's chant the whole day of his first practice:
They don't really have games, but twice a season they have a "Fun Friday" where they split up and play against each other. Here are some pictures of the Lil' Firecrackers:

Red team celebration

He spent the first half of the game running after the group but not realy wanting to be in the middle of things. He finally got brave and ran in there and picked up the ball. Too bad it was soccer. :) After that (and a couple of reminders that we don't use our hands) he did really well. All the other kids have played before, but the coach has a daughter who would run around with Dallin until he felt comfortable. (She's the one in the white t-shirt in the picture above) Dallin loves his coach. Every time Coach tells Dallin he did good at something, Dallin tells us about it over and over again.

On another note, we have started napping again, or rather "quiet time" that always ends up being a nap. We have been playing too hard this summer and he has been ornery all day long. Now with the naps, he has been fun to be around. Only down side is I have to make sure he runs around a lot after nap or else he's up way too late.  Let's hope this keeps up.

That's it in a nutshell. A lot more has gone on, but this post is about done. See ya soon!
