He has a new found love for plaid. I had to suppress the desire to explain to everyone we saw shopping that day that he dressed himself. I am sure most of them probably figured that out on their own. He's striking a superhero pose in case you didn't know.

A Year Of FHE

As Dallin started Sunbeams, I have made a big effort to make sure we have a well planned FHE every Monday night. Some are more planned out than others. I have recently decided to go through the Gospel Principles manual as our FHE topics. Because this is written for adults, it can be difficult to make easy for a three year old to understand. Enter A Year Of FHE.

I found this website about 2 months ago, and love it. Emilie is an awesome lady who shares all her FHE plans. She has all of last years, and shares this year as she plans them. I don't follow the same topics she does (though she makes it easy for you if you want to), but it is easy to find different topics from her past FHE. Just wanted to share my great find with you.

Oh, and she has some great prints you can purchase at her Etsy shop. You should check them out. I am think Dallin might need a Scripture Power reminder hanging in his room. :)

So as I read this, it is sounding like a sales pitch. It isn't. I don't know Emilie or her family. I just stumbled onto her blog and wanted to share. I only share the her Etsy shop because I want anyone who is sharing the good values I believe in to succeed. I hope she does well.

Fireflies

Here is a video so you can see the fireflies. I am sure it's a bit boring (Other than when Dallin is explaining the on/off of a firefly), but I thought some people might find it interesting. The blinking lights you can see are the fireflies. They are way cooler in person. Sorry western staters (is that a word?), but this will have to do. :)

Soccer Is Over

Well, soccer is over for Dallin. I think over all he liked it. He was always excited to go to practice or a game, but once we got there he didn't always want to participate. (I am sure if my mom or dad are reading this they are laughing at this. Sound familiar?)

Wednesday we had our last game. I use the term game loosely. Basically all the kids come and they are split up into two teams. Coach Brett was awesome at taking the time teach them a lot. Dallin loved his coach. Actually, he loved the whole coach family. (You will understand when you see the pictures in a minute.)

 Here are the boys who played with Dallin. There were more kids, but these were the most consistent at coming and made it to the last game. I think Dallin was the only 3 year old on the team. I know Dallin was the youngest.

  Dallin spent most of his time out on the field with the Coach's daughter. He would want to hold her hand or have her near him when he ran around. Hadley was so sweet to him.

 At one point he refused to go out and play unless Megan, the coach's wife, would go out with him. She was a trooper to run around holding both of Dallin's hands for a while. (She did this the last game too, which is why I think he wanted her to do it again.)

 If left on his own, he often times ended up on the ground sitting or laying. If not that, he would run towards the trees and start to karate chop at them.

 The one thing he did like to do was stand in front of the goal or to kick off. He didn't need anyone's help with that.

 At the end of the game, they cooked hotdogs and had food for the kids. Then they got a trophy. I think Dallin was super excited about his "soccer statue." They also go their own soccer ball. He loves playing with it at home. I am not so sure Dallin will want to sign up in the fall, but I think overall he had fun. He made some friends on the team at least. And I sure did have a good time watching him.
