Anyone Rememer First Aid From Girls Camp?

So, I had a great ending to the day! Can you sense my sarcasm? I about cut off my finger today. The sad thing was all I was doing was cutting up lettuce. I know I should have skipped having a veggie for dinner.

OK, So I'm being a little over dramatic. I really just cut off the pad of my finger. It's about the size of a dime and is barely hanging on to my finger. I think I finally got it so stop bleeding. The good thing is I didn't start crying or freaking out because of all the blood. The bad thing is that Russ and I stink at first aid. I wrapped it in a rag and held it tight over my head to try and stop the bleeding. Beyond that, we didn't know how to proceed. We even tried to call my uncle Jeff a few time for help (he's a dentist and knows about this first aid stuff). In the end we used gauze and duct tape. Russ is going to the store to try and find something a bit better to bandage up my finger with. The fun thing is I am a data transcriber. Typing should be a ton of fun!

Thanks for letting me vent. And I totally give you permission to laugh at me, either for my dumb story or for the fact that I am bothering to post about this.

Question: This is totally off the topic, but I want to know what everyone thinks. What is the one calling in church that you do not ever want to have? I'm just curious.

Nicole, I did the same thing once. Just put a thick pad of gauze on it, and tape it on. Don't change the dressing for several days and it will heal on it's own. (of course, make sure it is clean first). I was even able to type with it padded that way.

Ouch! I hate any type of bandage on my hands so that is a tough one for me. Hopefully you can get something on there that is clean and will get it healed up fast. As for the calling ?? I would NEVER go into the primary or teach sunday school. I did the nursery for a few months. Just long enough to know that I can't do the kids.

Why? Are you the new RS pres. Hang in there.

I've always said that I could never be Primary chorister. I'm still totally freaked by it, just because I'm not musically talented, but I'm not as scared now that I have been Primary President for a year.

Yeah, teaching Gospel Doctrine would be pretty intimidating.

Poor finger. I always do stuff like that when I try to cook! I'm getting better though. And callings...definitely gospel doctrine.

Wow Nicole, that sounds bad. Are you sure you don't need stitches at the hospital or anything? I'm really sorry. I don't know if I should say what calling I wouldn't want, because then I'll get it right? I never would want to do scouts. Like be a den mother. I think it would be hard.

Nicole, I had to post and tell you thanks for the laugh! I totally pictured you holding your hand above your head in a towel!!
Worst church calling I have had... had to be teaching the 12/13 year olds!! Bunch of little you know whats, who didn't listen, gossiped during the entire class and just in that preteen annoying age!!!
