4th of July
Happy 4th of July! We had a pretty good one, other than Dallin was still ornery because he has strep on Thursday. No, he wasn't contagious anymore, but he was still sore and tired.
Russ and I ran the 5k. I don't look too great, but I had to post it. To prove I did it. Yeah!
Dallin was ornery until the parade started. They he cheered up a bit.
We had the Richins' party on Saturday too. If you notice in the picture, there is a cooked pig sitting in the bucket. Yes, that was our lunch. And yea. it was good.
We also went went swimming at my uncle Reed's house. It was a blast. No photos, but Dallin loved the pool.

Random Talk
Me: Dallin, do you know who is coming home with week?
Dallin: Who?
Me: Uncle Lewis is coming home?
Dallin: Then he's going back to him mission?
Me: No, he's done with his mission. Ty will go on a mission in a couple years when he turns 19.
Dallin: Lewis doesn't have a sister?
Me: I'm Lewis's sister.
Dallin: And I'm Lewis's brother.
Me: No, you're Lewis's nephew and he's your uncle.
Dallin: So I can't pinch him.
Don't ask me. I guess it's good he knows not to pinch his uncles. Dan has taught him well the dos and don'ts of wrestling with uncles.

Peanut Butter Peanuts Anyone?
Russ was eating peanuts before dinner. Dallin loves peanuts, so he asked if he could have some. Of coarse Russ gave him some. Dallin stuck all of them in his mouth at once. After chewing them all up, he turned to Russ and I and said, "Mom, there is peanut butter in these peanuts." What a yummy treat! :)

5th Annual Summer Outing
For the last 5 years, Russ and I have gone to SLC to spend the day at the Gateway. The last two years we have brought Dallin with us. This years outing revolved around Toy Story 3. It was also the Utah Foster Care Foundation's annual Chalk Art Festival. There was a lot going on, and the drawings were amazing. We took Frontrunner (a.k.a the train) down to SLC. Dallin loved it. He pointed out everything he saw out the window.
I forgot my camera, but luckily Russ has an iphone, so we still got plenty of pictures.
After walking around to see all the chalk drawings and learning Dallin was too scared to go into the water at the Olympic Snowflake Fountain, we went to lunch at Tucanos Brazilian Grill for our Father's Day dinner. It was so yummy! Dallin did pretty well too, other than when he knocked a plate to the ground and it shattered. They were all so nice about it and cleaned it up really quickly, but Dallin was afraid he was in trouble and started to bawl. It took a good 5 minutes to get him to calm down enough to talk to him. But he loved the food. The favoriates that he kept asking for more of was raisins, rolls, fresh mozzarella balls, and quail eggs. I guess the quails eggs must have been a lot like hard boiled chicken eggs, but smaller. He liked them. I had no desire to try them. We got yummy cobbler for dessert and Russ even got a glass to take home for Father's Day.
Then off to Toy Story 3. It was a good one. Dallin loved it and he did really well during the movie. As soon as we left, we asked to go see it again. :) The picture is at the theater. It was one of those large cardboard adds they have for movies. It was for the Narnia movie. He's sailing the ship.
Every year we have to go to Ben and Jerry's for ice cream. Dallin was so excited we let him get a chocolate and sprinkled covered cone. We ate ice cream and then went to listen to the live music they had playing. It was a lot of fun. We would have stayed longer, but I was getting a bit burned sitting in the sun.
We weren't on Trax more than 5 minutes on the way home before Dallin was knocked out. He slept on the Trax ride and Frontrunner till about Clearfield.
After that, he woke up in a pretty good mood and just played the Ipod the rest of the way home.
We let Dallin stay up till 10 since his nap was from 5 to 6 and also because they had fireworks for Terrace Days. He spent a lot of the time playing with Woody and Buzz and reciting lines from Toy Story 3.

Overall it was a good day. I don;t know where we will be going to for our outing next year. I'm thinking maybe Chicago. Russ thinks that is a great idea :) (for those who didn't know, that's where he served his mission.)

Zoo
Last Monday we went to the Hogle Zoo with my mother in law. It was fun. Dallin would let us know when he was ready to move on to the next animal. Here are a few pictures from that day.
Dallin and the orangutan just watched each other forever. Dallin thought it was pretty funny to watch him eat. Then he spit it all out into his hand. That was even funnier, or so Dallin thought. Seem the orangutan and Dallin had a lot in common (well, at least table manners.)
A little video of Dallin having fun before the bird show. I think this was his favorite part of the show.
