D

So here are some random pictures of Dallin. Since I know you can't just get enough of Dallin's fashion sense, here are some more pictures.
And let's not forget the superhero pose. He had me take at least 5 different pictures of different poses.
Yes, we went out in public like this, tie and all.
One morning Dallin came in my room and told me to stay in bed because he wanted to decorate for me and he wanted it to be a surprise.  He likes to do this, so I said OK. Usually he tapes pictures he had drawn on the wall or stickers. Today he came in the room and said, "Mom, come see. I decorated the floor for you!"

Today we went shopping at a local consignment store. I needed a jacket and at least one pair of pants for Dallin for the cold days we have once in a while lately. While we were there, we found a tiger costume for $12. Dallin had asked me to make him a dragon costume for Halloween, but quickly decided he would rather be a tiger. (If you know Dallin very well, you know his love for tigers.) I figured I would be spending at least $12 to make/buy a dragon costume, so we got the tiger costume. He LOVES it. I know is sounds silly, but I was sad he wanted it instead. I just wanted him to be a "cute" something I helped pick out one more year. I guess we are done with that. My boy is all grown up and knows what he wants.

Finally, I can't imagine I am the only one who has this problem. You leave your camera in an easy to reach place and next time you look at it, you have about 50 pictures that all look like the one below. :)

The "Other Blog" Post

Some of you know that I write another blog. It is a lot more of my thoughts and feelings rather than updates of what we are doing. The only reason I mention it is because I posted something on my other blog I also wanted to share on here, so instead of typing it here too, I am just going to link it.

Click here is you want to see a video about the Golden Ratio. Enjoy!

Circus

Before we get to the circus, here are some random pictures of some fun we had at home.  We made bath paints with shaving cream and food coloring. Dallin loved it other than I bought cheap shaving cream from the dollar store and Dallin hated the smell. It was a strong musk. I don't blame him.

Dallin and I went to the circus a week ago with a friend from church and her little girl. I know some of you may have seen these on FB, but I thought I would share again on here. First up, the dancing. We were entertained with a pre-show show.

Playing in the dirt while waiting.

Buddies. She always wants hugs, but Dallin don't let her very often.
One is excited, the other is a super hero. Can you guess which is which?
"WOW!"
Yea for snow cones!

We are too busy watching elephants to smile for the camera.

One Year Ago

OK, so it is really one year ago plus a day we were moving into our new apartment in Michigan. Crazy a whole year has come and gone. One more year and then who knows where we will be. Russ starts job applications in about a month or so. That should continue through the winter, and hopefully we will have a job offer by March or April. If not, we look for last minute academic jobs (there are always some) or look for an industry job. And I am just starting to really like Michigan too. :) I think I could stay here permanently if we had a job (Other than it is so far from Utah).

Why, Dallin?

So today was one of those days that felt like I kept having to ask "Why, Dallin?" Why did you have to pull out every Kleenex from the box? Why did you have to pull everything off the bulletin board? Why did you have to shove the whole pack of gum into your mouth? Why did you draw all over yourself with the dry erase marker?  On and On...

Dallin, however, was more patient with me. He cleaned up, cleaned off the marker, and gave me a big hug. "Mom, an I'm sorry Hug will make you feel better." Finally, I just sat there. He came up to me with the smile he gives when he is sorry. I finally lost it. I grabbed the marker and drew all over his face.  Of coarse then I had to let him draw all over mine. He loved that. All the tension was gone. A much better way to end the day.

Bunnies, Bunnies Everywhere

We must have a family of bunnies living close by. We see them all the time around our building. Often there is one or two of them at our back porch eating the clover that grows around there. Dallin loves to sit at the sliding glass door and watch them. Here is the bunny that was hanging out there this morning. Sorry if the pictures are a bit fuzzy. They were taken through the window, which I currently covered with window marker drawings. I tried to find a clean spot to take the picture.

Not only do we often get to watch bunnies on our  back porch, but there are also geese and squirrels. Sometimes the squirrels have been known to come up to the glass and peak in. I guess they are all a little use to people being around. It is our own little nature show.
