Super Why and the Train

We went to the Children's Garden today. As we were leaving a train went by. We decided to go watch it.

I wouldn't let Dallin get any closer, but he sure had fun watching it.

How for the Halloween costume. Dallin wanted to be Super Why, but I couldn't bring myself to spend $20 on a flimsy body suit. So I went crazy and decided to make it. I found some of it rather easy. The long sleeve shirt and the pants. I made the mask and cape. I got the material for the cape at $3 a yard. I only used one yard. The mask might need to be redone, so please over look that. But believe it or not, I couldn't find a green t0shirt anywhere. I looked at every store I could think of. And too make it worse, I could not find where his blue shorts disappeared to.  One of to things, either they will turn up right after Halloween or I lost them at the Laundromat. Either way I had to order the t-shirt and shorts online. Both for under $3 a piece, but shipping was $6!!! At this point I was so far into the costume, I just did it. Not too happy. I think totally I spend almost $25! On the bright side, the clothing can be worn again (expect the pants, they are girl pants). And I know the cape will be well used. Enough about my costume woes. He sure loves it and has been asking to wear it every day.

You did a good job on the costume Nic! Even if it might have been easier to buy one, at least, like you said, he can use it again.

So about the extensions: I bought them at Sally's for about $70, but you only need one packet, and yes they are easy to put in. The lady there helped me match the color, but I know that some people even buy them and then just have them dyed to match their hair. $70 might seem like a lot, but some people spend $200 plus for the bead ones that are sewn into their hair. These are just clip in ones, which is great because I don't have to wear them all the time. It's real hair so you can curl it, wash it, etc.
