Sick Dallin

I took Dallin to the doctor today. He started running a fever on Thursday, but by Friday night he seemed to be better. I was wrong. But Saturday afternoon he was running a fever again and had to grossest, green, goopy eyes I have ever seen. The doctor said that he has an ear infection that spread to his eyes. Before you think I am a bad mother for not noticing that he could have an ear infection, I promise you that there where no signs other than the fever, and he has had quite a few fevers this winter that have proved to be nothing. I even asked everyone we spent time around this weekend if they had noticed Dallin putting at his ears are anthing at all. No one did. My doctor said that some children can ignore ear pain rather well. He said his own daughter had a burst ear drum and they had no idea until they noticed puss dripping out her ear. OK , that was a gross story :)

Good news, he is now on an antibiotic. Bad news, because it has spread to his eye he is contagious until there is no more green goop, which can take a day or two. Good news, my mom can watch Dallin so I don't have to take any more days off work. (Though I wish I could just be home with him.)

Now Beckers knows the whole story.

Poor kid. At least he's not miserable..that's a plus. Aren't moms/grandmas the best?

I hope he feels better, and I don't think your a bad mom, stuff like that happens. When Kyrah broke her arm, we thought she dislocated her shoulder or something like that, so we were grabbing her arm,(gently) right where it was actually broken.

Sick kids are no fun! Sorry your little guy is not feeling well. Hopefully that antibiotic will kick in soon! Thanks for keeping us updated. I'm blogging now too...you'll have to check it out sometime (maybe when you no longer have a sick kid). On our family blog we have a link to a blog all about our home build which is still in the process...
