Air Zoo

Friday we went to the Air Zoo near Kalamazoo. I saw an article in a magazine once I have wanted to go for a while. We finally made it out. Dallin loved it. Lots to see and also some fun little ride. At first I had to bribe Dallin to try all the rides (sound familiar, Mom?), but after he did he loved them all.

Dallin's favorite ride was the airplanes. We sat there while he would go on it again and again. He liked to ride with other people. One time there were only him and one other boy in line, about 7 years old. When they went to pick a plane the boy picked a plane and Dallin climbed in the same plane in the back seat. Luckily he didn't seem to mind having Dallin there. Dallin finally found a little boy who loved the ride also and they spent about 20 minutes going on the ride over and over again together. They had fun playing fighter pilots.  They took turns being the pilot and the gunner.
Waiting to pay

Dallin's favorite ride. This is not made for adults. It was comical watching me get in and out.

Pretending to fly the helicopter they had on display.

All ready for the spinning balloon ride. We are lucky Mom didn't throw up after.

"Fine, one picture. Then more rides."

Paratrooper ride.

Terrified to go on it at first, but loved it and went again and again.

Pretending to be on a space station.

Playing in a space capsule.

"Flying" the airplane

So many buttons and switches to to play with.

Tough guys in front of the flying car

Big Boys for dinner.
It was a fun trip. Even better was that since Dallin was 4, he was free. It was a fun day.

Thumb sucking update. We are taking a break from the thumb cover. I know some of you will think I should stick to my guns, but he was just started to be sneaky about it. The first few days went great, but then it went down hill. He would hide and take it off to suck his thumb. He would pretend he was asleep and when I left him at night, he took it off and sucked his thumb. It wasn't worth the fight yet. We will try again when he is more ready. Since a couple of different dentists said that I don't need to worry until he loses his baby teeth, I don't plan on it.
