Brown Syndrome

Remember this post?We finally met with a pediatric ophthalmologist this month. The diagnosis was what is called Brown Syndrome. He can not raise his left eye. Also, he turn his head to the right slightly. The doctor said this helps him stabilize his eye. I had noticed this before, but thought nothing of it since I have a sister and a cousin who do the same thing. Luckily we only need to have it checked once a year and no surgery is required since no other problems are present. I'm happy about that.

He's Done!

Yup, Russ is finally graduated! Yeah! We are all so excited and proud of him. He's worked hard. But, as he keeps reminding me, he plans to continue to put in as many hours at his new job. Hopefully we will live closer to campus in Michigan than we do now. :)
Random picture I thought was funny. Russ and Dallin were watching the "Robot Movie" aka Star Wars. Dallin saw Yoda and got so excited and just had to put on his costume. As soon as Yoda was no longer in the scene, he would take it off. But then the next scene with Yoda we would have to put it back on. It's a good thing Yoda isn't around all that much :)

Scripture Story

We had our FHE lesson on scripture study. I had the picture of Nephi and his family leaving Jerusalem and talked about how the scriptures were so important to them that Nephi went all the way back to get the brass plates. Then we talked about the stories we learn about in the scriptures.

Me: Dallin, who do we learn about in the scriptures?

Dallin: Nephi broke his bow. He got another one.

Mom: Yes, he did. Who else do we learn about in the scriptures?

Dallin: My Elmo blanket blowed away in the house. It blowed away all over outside and Nephi catched it. He got my Elmo blanket 'cause it blowed away.


Obviously, we aren't reading the same scripture stories. :) At least the bow part was right.

Day 2 Update

The tylenol and nap helped. He asked if we could go to Disneyland, so we did. However, he was still very tired. He spent most of his time looking like this:

However, on the rides he looked more like this:

At dinner he kept telling me everything was hot when he ate it. When he told me his apple juice was hot, I got suspicious. I used the knife as a tongue depressor. His throat looks red and slightly swollen. I was able to talk to a nurse. After discussing symptoms, she told me not to worry about it unless he has trouble breathing, the fever gets worse, or he developed white puss on the back of his throat. That made me feel a whole lot better. Russ also gave him a blessing. About 10 minutes after that, he started running around like he was fine. The only problem is now I have to get him calmed down to go to bed. All things considered, it has been a fun day.

First Day and 1/2

DAY 1:

After napping at the hotel, we decided to head to Disneyland. The first ride we went on was Pinocchio because it was the shortest line. I wanted him to see what all the line waiting was about, to get the idea that waiting in line equaled getting on a ride. BIG mistake. It totally freaked him out. I thought the whole trip was going to stink. He went on Dumbo next. Here is the picture when we first got on the ride, him not looking too sure:

He soon figured out how the park worked. Don't get me wrong. Sometimes he still got impatient in line, but he knew there was going to be something fun at the end. He even got brave. He wanted to go to the Haunted Mansion and Pirates. He said he liked them, though he looked a little apprehensive during the rides. Russ did inform me that even he thought Pinocchio was the creepiest ride of all of them. :)Over all the had fun. His favorite was a Buzz Lightyear one where you get to shoot the bad guys. We've done it 3 times already. Good thing all the lines have been way short. 20 minutes was the longest wait for Nemo.

He had fun, but I think we was a bit over excited. I could hardly get him to sit and eat. Even after leaving the park and being back in the room I think he only had like 3 bits of his dinner.

DAY 2:

Dallin was acting really ornery this morning. I figured it was because he didn't eat or drink enough the night before, or staying up too late, or sleeping on a pullout couch. We rented a stroller, which he sat in for about the first 20 minutes. After that all he wanted was to be held.

He was excited to see the characters. Even though he doesn't look too happy in either picture, he was. He especially loved Sully. He never even complained having to wait in a line to see him (It wasn't too long of a line anyway.)

After a few rides and then seeing Sully, he was acting more tired and started to feel warm to me. We found a first aid point and they took his temperature. 101.6. Poor kid. So now I'm at the hotel blogging. Dallin had some tylenol and is now napping. Russ stayed at the park to ride all the rides that Dallin is too little to go on. Hopefully Dallin will get feeling better this afternoon or tomorrow so he can go back and have some fun. Until then, I am stuck at the hotel. I'm glad we got a nice hotel. :) Makes it easier to hang out in a clean comfortable room. Best part, it has sliding doors to close of the bedroom. Now Dallin can nap and I can watch me some TV. I'll post more later.

We Made It!

We made it to CA. It is about 1:00 here. Both Dallin and Russ are asleep. Just getting here took it all out of them.

Dallin was pretty good traveling. We watched a movie and colored for a while. The stewardess gave him cookies and pretzels because she said she was so impressed with how good he was. Everyone else only got peanuts. :)

Dallin zonked out on the ride to the hotel. When we got all checked in, I asked if he wanted to go to Disneyland. He assured me that we were all ready there and he wanted to sit on the bed and watch TV. I guess we just should have taken him to a hotel in Ogden. :)

Easter and Crafts

Quick run down of Easter weekend. It was busy.

The weekend before we had an Easter egg hunt at my mom's because the Hanceys had planed on going to ID on Easter weekend. Too bad for them, everyone got sick and they didn't make it.

Dallin's Great Grandma Davies invited him to and Easter egg hunt where she lived.

Can you see how many eggs he got? And I have a grocery bag half full of eggs too.
(My red-eye on i-photo did something crazy to his eyes and I couldn't fix it. Bummer.)

We had another Easter egg hunt at Great Grandma Braegger's house. We love going there every year.

Fun prizes!

Easter Morning

We died Easter eggs at Grandma Tana's house. It was fun.

But not as fun as eating all of them after, and I mean they ate all of them. I never met kids who like hard boiled eggs as much as my niece and nephew.

His Easter clothes. He didn't wear them until the week after Easter because of General Conference.

Dallin and I made a count down chain for Disneyland. In case you couldn't tell, that is a picture of the castle on the blue paper. We cut it our of a magazine. Dallin keeps calling it the temple. :)
